Seymour was bred by ourselves using
carefully selected bloodlines to specifically include the
world famous Stallions Downland Chevalier, Barkway
Kouros, Orielton Aristocrat, Rotherwood State Occasion, Keston
Royal Occasion and Downland Mohawk, with a view to
producing a stallion of the highest quality. He is
maturing into all that we had hoped for, showing fantastic
movement with a good hind action, correct conformation,
even temperament and a certain showmanship.
He has
been left to mature slowly and has only been shown once
at the annual "British Dressage" Youngstock Championships held
at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, 25th June 2005, as Pony
with potential to become a dressage pony. He gained 3rd
place in a strong class against 3 year olds of the highest
quality with him the only 2 year old shown. He was
relaxed and happy travelling alone in the trailer and took all
the new sites in his stride.
He will be broken to ride later
this year in readiness for his future career as a dressage
pony with a view to competing successfully with the British
Dressage fledglings/pony riders.
His Dam can
be seen and is graded into the main stud book of the Sports
Pony Studbook Society.
Seymour was broken to ride in
August 2007, and is working really well, he has been used in
our pony day on the 29th August - pics on the Fledgling News
page.
He is proving to be calm, sensible and
will be without doubt an excellent prospect for 2008. He
went to his first dressage competition on the 2nd September
and gained 6th place in the Prelim. We plan to bring him
on, unless previously sold, and compete him regularly at
dressage he will, without doubt, be bringing home red rosettes
very soon. Watch out for more results!!!

Seymour went to his first
cross country schooling session early October 07 and
jumped really well after the initial "look" at the fences he
was bold, honest and genuine. Maybe a potential working
hunter pony?
