Cassini I
Cassini I is a son of renowned show
jumping Sire, Capitol I, many of whose progeny inherited his
grey coloured coat. Similar to Gotthard before him, Capitol I
is making white a fashionable colour again. Quite a
considerable proportion of interesting young stallions sired
by Cassini I have been approved over the past few years, and
care has been taken to assure sufficient thoroughbred content
with the mares that he covers and as a result of this his
progeny has increasingly been popular in the show jumping
arena. Cassini I is out of a dam by the 'ideal' Holstein
stallion Caletto II, who unfortunately had a fatal accident
after only four seasons at stud. Caletto II was very popular
during his lifetime and his hereditary transmission to his
progeny corroborates this high esteem. His progeny are among
the best on the show jumping circuit. His daughter Classic
Touch, ridden by Ludger Beerbaum was the sovereign gold medal
winner at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, thereby putting
the crowning glory to his prowess as a sire of performance
horses. The large framed Mahmud with his powerful motions adds
the valuable bloodline of Marlon to Cassini I’s pedigree. His
dam Wisma produced another grey in 1996, the approved Cassini
II, who is also owned by the Holstein Association.
Performance record: Cassini I absolved
his stallion performance test in performance classes and was
thereafter successfully promoted in show jumper competitions
by Bo Kristoffersen. He won show jumping competitions at
intermediate classes. In 1994 he was a placed consistently at
the Federal German Show jumping Championship. Thereafter he
was taken over by Frankie Sloothaak with whom he had numerous
International placing's including winning the Arnheim Grand
Prix and wins in Nation's Cups as well as placements in World
Cup show jumping events.
Breeding record: His first batches of
foals from the Sollwittfeld station produced a large number of
premium foals, of which six have been registered as state
premium mares and eight as approved stallions in diverse
breeds. The son Candillo won the 1996 stallion performance
test in Medingen. Cassini I has already presented numerous
federal championship participants in show jumping. His
exceedingly ride-able offspring are doing their sire great
honors in dressage also. An unusually large number of his
progeny are meanwhile celebrating International sports
successes.
Caletto II
Caletto II is regarded as the best son
of Cor de la Bryere, especially in producing brood mares by
Capitol. Cor de la Bryere was the most influential Sire in the
Holstein bred in France, with a presence of the thoroughbred
it started a new breeding era in the Holstein era by improving
the jumping technique (especially in the front legs). Some of
his sons are Corrado, Caletto I, Caletto II, Caletto III,
Calypso IV (five brothers all graded Calando IV).

Caribo
Caribo competed in dressage and was the
sire of Carabas who was also a graded stallion owed by the
well known Tannenhof stud in Germany. He was also the sire of
Carnaby a graded stallion. His sire Caribo GL began his Siring
career in Holstein and continued it at the Rhenish Lindenkreuz
stud farm. He was promoted up to an advanced class in dressage
and transmitted himself in a versatile manner with a
predisposition for high demands.
Carnaby GL's dam Lacona B produced the
sporting stallion Canaletto and the state premium mare Carina,
who was the best three-year-old mare at the mare registration
in Aix-la-Chapelle in 1989, as well as the younger approved
Cantus son Coubertin. The grand-dam Kehdingia presented to the
competition sports horses Lafayette 24 (by Lamour) and Loriot
d' Europe (by Lord) a full-brother of Lacona. The
great-grand-dam Fauphin was a successful show jumper with her
rider Anja Peters under her sports alias of Wonne 17, becoming
inter champion of the German Junior Championship in 1980, her
full-sisters Wega 34 and Wacholder 21were also highly
successful show jumpers under Werner Peters. Wega, who is
registered in the studbook as Hagina, was mated with Athlet Z
and gave birth to the top horse Audiela II. The male forebears
in the maternal lineage, Wahnfried and Heidefreund II belong
to the best Holstein private stallions. The
great-great-grand-dam Nagina gave birth to the three
full-sisters Wonne, Wacholder and Wega and the successful
advanced show jumpers Saskia 61 and Silvano 7 (both by
Sacramento Song). Bagina, an Ahorn Z daughter out of Gitta
(alias Wacholder) was mated with Contender, to produce the
approved full-brothers Concerto I and II. Hagitta, a Leonid
daughter, out of Bagina, was in turn mated with Caretino, to
produce the approved full-brothers Casario I and II. The
chestnut mare Wacholder gave birth to the well-known show
jumper Pandur 83/W.
Performance record: Carnaby GL passed
his stallion performance test with flying colours, with a show
jumping weight true to the expectations arising from his
pedigree. He continued to become an accomplished show jumper.
He achieved many successes in advanced show jumping in
Belgium, but these wins are not reflected in his German
winnings statistics. Carnaby GL has had a whole host of wins
in intermediate and advanced show jumping, winning the
puissance in Lobnitz at a height of over 2.10
metres.
Breeding record: Carnaby GL's offspring
have a diverse predisposition and are successful in sport up
to advanced levels. The highlight of his progeny thus far is
Carabas, the much applauded Holstein approved winner of
2000.
